Live in The North East - SOLD OUT

Duo confirmed for Glenfarg Folk Feast 2018

Pauline and Sandy have today been confirmed for appearing at the
40th Glenfarg Folk Feast in April 2018. (6th,7th and 8th) They will be opening the Sunday evening concert on the 8th,which will also feature the wonderful Richard Digance and The James Brothers with Emily Smith.  It promises to be a magical weekend! Get your tickets here!

Following two successful nights at Partick and Stirling Folk Clubs, Pauline and Sandy will be headlining Craigie Folk Club this coming Saturday 4th November. Craigie is the first folk club that Pauline ever performed in and she is looking forward to returning for a third time! The venue is Craigie Village hall in the village of Craigie near Kilmarnock, KA1 5LY.  Tickets are £10 or £6 (under 16) pay at the door. BYOB. See you there!

Following a successful night at Glenfarg Folk Club on the 27th March, Pauline and Sandy headed to England for Concerts at The Globe , performing at The Globe in Glossop. A first visit for Sandy and a fourth for Pauline.  A warm and appreciative crowd made for a lovely experience. It also resulted in an excellent review of the live concert by FATEA Magazine. Duo selected for coveted Fatea Showcase Sessions

The new pairing of Pauline and Sandy has caught the attention of the team at FATEA magazine. After receiving their acoustic promotional CD which had also been aired on Stockport based show Roots and Fusion, Pauline was delighted to be contacted to offer the duo a spot on the Fatea Showcase Sessions. Falkirk Folk Club confirmed for April 20th

Pauline and Sandy Stanage will be headlining Falkirk Folk Club on April 20th. The club holds special memories for Pauline, having performed twice there with Edwin Gallacher in previous years. Following the release of 'Happy Holidays' for The Grand Gestures, the album has come into some excellent reviews. Alan Morrison of The Sunday Herald has given the group a nod at #35 in the Top 50 Scottish Albums of the Year.  Furthermore 'Happy Holidays' was  Album of The Month - (The Skinny) and Album Of the Week - (Rough Trade Shops.) You can read The Skinny Review here.

Stirling Folk Club Added to the Gig Calendar

It will be only the second time that Pauline and Edwin have performed in Stirling. However this will be their debut performance at Stirling Folk Club on Monday August 10th. Pauline and Edwin announced for Goosfest

The lineup for Goosfest 2015 has been confirmed and Pauline and Edwin are all set to be part of this exciting music and arts festival in Cheshire. This will see the duo returning to England for their fourth festival appearance, on Saturday 10th October at 4pm, for Folk at The Marquee. Headlining the two-day event will be Edwina Hayes, with guest appearances from Jez Lowe, Boo Hewerdine, Wingin' ItHowden Jones, The Slippery Hill Boys, Sunjay and Robert Lane.  Tickets aren't currently available, however do keep an eye on the Box Office page for updates.

Arran Folk Festival welcomes duo

Pauline and Edwin have been confirmed for the Arran Folk Festival for Saturday 6th June 2015. This sees a return for Pauline who played at the 17th folk festival in Arran back in 2011 with guitarist Paul Baird and the night holds a very special memory for her. Electronica frontman Jan Burnett had been busy working on this third installment to the Grand Gestures project.  This time its a little bit darker than its already bleak siblings.  Pauline arrive at Grand Gestures HQ to record some vocals for her own take of vocals to accompany one of Jan's tunes with something a little more chilling than before.  More details to follow.  Rumours suggest there might be another outing for the ensemble to be announced soon.

Isambard Folk Award Nomination

The Isambard Folk Award nomination has seen Pauline and Edwin making the final cut of 14 musicians to be shortlisted for this prestigious award.  It also gives a chance to perform on the main stage at Bristol Folk Festival.  To say that we are excited about this is an understatement.  The final place will be awarded to those who have had the highest public vote.  The last day of voting is Friday 25th April 2014.  If you would like to vote for them you can do so at the link here.

On ITV News As Part Of Burns Night Celebrations At Burns Cottage

Pauline Alexander & Edwin Gallacher appeared briefly as part of a news feature on ITV News. Having performed at the Burns Cottage for Burns Night, footage of the duo could be seen interspersed with other shots from the Burns celebrations including addressing the haggis.  It was also an ideal time for the crew to ask the guests their thoughts on whether Scotland should be independent.  The news item was aired at 6pm and 10pm.

Pauline Alexander joined radio show presenters Paul Mansell and Andy Fowler for a telephone chat about songwriting, performing south of the border and an upcoming gig in Alcester as part of the Winter Festival.  There were three live tracks played. Two of which were from a live performance at Glenfarg and another from Glasgow Cathedral comprising of Money For Floods, Broken Youth and Imagine.  The show was broadcasted on Saturday 18th January 2014 at 4pm.

Grand Gestures To Perform At The CCA in Glasgow

Electronica ensemble Grand Gestures are to perform a special gig at the CCA [Centre For Contemporary Arts] in Glasgow on Sunday 9th Feb at 8pm.  Pauline's contribution to the project 'A Whisper Of Sayonara" is unconfirmed for inclusion but she will be making performing a mix of songs from the Grand Gestures debut and follow up album.  Also appearing are Man Without Machines.  Tickets are £7, More details on the event can be seen on the CCA event page here.

"Second" album from Grand Gestures arrives

The Grand Gestures release their new follow up album Second.  Pauline Alexander lends her words and vocals to "A Whisper Of Sayonara" as one of the tracks on the new album.  Inspired by murder ballads it is intended to have a haunting feel to the song.  You can hear the song or buy the track or album here.  Music by Jan Burnett with some nice instrumental by Dave Burnett.

Vic Galloway Live Session with The Grand Gestures on BBC Radio Scotland

Pauline Alexander visited the studios of BBC Radio Scotland to join the Scottish Electronica ensemble Grand Gestures for a live session on Vic Galloway's BBC Radio Scotland show.  Pauline's contribution to the Grand Gestures 'Second' album 'A Whisper Of Sayonara' wont be featured on the show but you can expect to hear Running With Scissors, Daybreak and There's No Place Like Home.  Guest musicians include Jan Burnett, Sanjeev Kohli, Emma Pollock [Delgados], Andrew Howie [Calamateur], Jill O'Sullivan [Sparrow & The Workshop], Celie Byrne, Dave Burnett & Barry Gibson.  Vic Galloway Facebook page can be found here
